What They Say
I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve written a testimonial for someone during my career. It’s not that I’m unable to put something down to extol the characteristics and capabilities of the many wonderful people who I have had the privilege of meeting and working with over the years. I have withheld writing testimonials because less is more. I want to make sure when I do write one, it has true meaning to me and hopefully will have the positive impact that I want it to have.
Gary Muddyman is first and foremost a generous and humble human being. We have worked together for several decades. He is someone who has put me, my teams and my business at the centre, giving his time and expertise to drive both commercial and personal success. Without out his inputs, we would have never been able to deliver our outputs, which have paved the way to us becoming a leader in our field.
Gary has many talents. One in particular comes to mind and that has been his ability to flex and adapt to the constantly changing needs of our business and our clients. Indeed, on many occasions over the years, Gary has led and driven the change, seeing things that need to be modified before we had. It’s his deep understanding and interest in our people, the work we do and our clients that has positioned him to provide this value.
I would conclude that it’s better to have Gary on your team than have him on the team of one of your competitors. If you get the opportunity to engage with him, do it. You won’t regret the decision to partner. I never have.

I am proud to write that over the past decade I have known Gary Muddyman as a corporate partner, sponsor, trusted confidante and as a friend. As an individual who had started a charity without any knowledge or experience of running a business, I welcomed support from parties who could offer strategic thinking, business acumen and an understanding of the challenges for any new organisation.
Gary has proven a fantastic sounding board, wise counsel and an effective contributor to the development of my personal leadership style as well as the direction of Sebastian’s Action Trust. Gary has tremendous integrity, sincerity and insight into the human aspects of business alongside the commercial necessities– these are values I hold in great esteem and I hope other organisations will benefit from the knowledge, skills and experience Gary has to offer.
Jane Gates OBE – CEO
Sebastian’s Action Trust
Jane is the founder and CEO of Sebastian's Action Trust, a nationally recognised incorporated charity providing respite breaks, emotional, social and practical support to the families of seriously ill children. We focus on a region encompassing Berkshire, Surrey, Bucks, Hampshire and Oxfordshire, although demand for our services has resulted in a national reach, with families coming to us from more than 34 counties of England, Scotland and Wales for respite breaks at The Bluebells. Having created The Bluebells, the UK's first and currently only purpose built respite house for seriously-ill children and their families, we are campaigning for raised awareness of the needs of families during the darkest days of their lives. We also offer support and guidance based on a model of best practice to other organisations throughout the UK seeking to emulate our success with The Bluebells.
We now have a second facility, The Woodlands, in Crowthorne, Berkshire, from where outreach and specialist support is offered. In time we aim to replicate the complete family respite model we offer at The Bluebells. From our two centres we provide outreach and specialist care across the five counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey. Specialist care includes child/youth support, finance and welfare advocacy, a range of therapeutic services to include music, art and horticultural therapy, along with bereavement care that ensures continuity after the death of a child where other clinical/ancillary services have withdrawn. We are a family led charity that constantly strives to address the unmet needs of the families we support. In July 2014 the collective efforts of the Trust were recognised at the highest level with the presentation of The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, acknowledged as the MBE for voluntary organisations. We would like to extend our working relationships with corporate partners with whom we can develop corporate and social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, whilst raising awareness of the vital work of our charity. We also look to engage with potential sponsors for our current and a second Bluebells.
